About Ninja One

Ninja One is a free WordPress child theme for the popular theme framework Thematic (If you are looking for a powerful theme framework with lots of functionality, Thematic is the one). This is the first child theme that I’ve released and I hope you like it.

Instructions on how to download, upload, and activate the theme

1. Download the latest version of Ninja One (ninja-one.zip) and extract the folder ninja-one.
2. Download the latest version of Thematic and extract the folder thematic.
3. Upload both folders to the wp-content/themes directory provided by WordPress.
4. Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel and select the Appearance panel.
5. From the Available Themes section, find Ninja One and click Activate.

With the new year, I’ve decided to get back to blogging!

I purchased this domain name over a year ago, but only started working on it recently. For those that don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Artur Kim and I am a 22-year old college student who is majoring in Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. I started using WordPress during the summer of 2007 and during that time, I had also started learning about theme development and web design. My HTML, CSS, and PHP knowledge expanded a lot during that summer through the reading of various blogs. On September 2007, I purchased my first domain name and started a WordPress-related blog called WP Themes Gallery. Since then, I’ve learned a lot more and through this blog, I will be providing freebies and sharing my knowledge.

To start off, check the rankings page. Remember the top 40 WordPress-related blogs list from WP Themes Gallery? Well, I’ve moved it here with a few changes:

• The PageRank, Alexa rank, and Feedburner count are now updated automatically;
• 2 new lists have been added: WordPress Galleries and Premium WordPress Themes;
• The tables can now be sorted either by alphabetical order, PageRank, Alexa rank, Feedburner count, or any combination of the 4 by holding the shift key.

Antonio Lupetti from Woork Up added another document to the Visual Cheat Sheet family. This time, he created a WordPress Visual Cheat Sheet, containing the full reference guide to WP Template Tags with detailed descriptions and sample code.

Malan Joubert, better known as Foxinni or Fox for short, is a full time web developer at WooThemes (this is an affiliate link) and has recently redesigned his site. The new design has an unusual layout and is unique. I’ve already shared my input on his blog post, feel free to do the same. What do you think of the redesign?
