Short answer: no, Elementor isn’t bad for SEO. Google gets the same title, headings and text from an Elementor page as from a block editor page, and every Elementor page I tested scored 95-99 in Lighthouse on mobile. The real Elementor SEO cost is speed, and one setting (Google Fonts) fixed most of it. Every…
Short answer on Elementor vs Gutenberg: for a blog or a simple business site, use Gutenberg (the block editor that comes with WordPress). It’s free, it’s already installed, and it was the lighter option on every test I ran. Pick Elementor when you want to design pages visually with more control, and go in knowing…
Short answer on Wordfence vs Solid Security: Wordfence protects more of your site on day one, and it’s the one I’d install on a beginner’s blog. Solid Security is the lighter, quieter option, but you have to finish its setup wizard before it does anything at all. There’s a bigger thing you need to know…
Short answer on Classic Editor vs Gutenberg: if you’re building a new site, use Gutenberg (the block editor). If you only write text posts and the old editor makes you happy, the Classic Editor plugin is still a perfectly safe choice in 2026. It doesn’t slow down your site for visitors at all – I…

Short answer on WooCommerce vs SureCart: SureCart is the easier start for digital products, services and subscriptions, and WooCommerce is the safer long-term home for a physical store. But the reasons are not the ones you’ll read on most comparison pages, and two of the most repeated “facts” about SureCart turned out to be wrong…
Here’s the LiteSpeed Cache vs WP Super Cache answer up front: your web host picks the winner, not you. If your host runs a LiteSpeed server, install LiteSpeed Cache – it started caching the moment I activated it and served my test page in about half a millisecond. On any other host, LiteSpeed Cache’s page…
Short answer: Rank Math’s free version gives you more features, and Yoast’s free version is easier to live with. Most beginners will be happier with Yoast. That’s not the answer I expected when I started. I got tired of reading comparisons that describe these two plugins without ever installing them. So I put both on…
